On Sunday morning, March 22, 1987, Wagner-Richardson’s partially clad body was found in the trunk of her blue Pontiac Sunbird in an alleyway behind 1600 Layard Ave. on the northwest side of Racine. Her throat had been slashed several times. Wagner-Richardson may have been abducted from the E.C. Styberg Engineering Co., 1600 Goold St., where she worked as a watch guard. Wagner-Richardson’s partially clad body was found about seven hours after she was reported missing from her job. Her car was found one block from the engineering company where she worked. Police recovered a badge, a pair of shoes, and other personal effects believed to have belonged to Wagner-Richardson in the 400 block of Island Ave. off of Spring St., about one mile from the place her body was found. Wagner-Richardson may have known her assailant. The location where she was killed remains unknown. |
